Once upon a time I was a student at university, my educational experiences culminating in the production of an Honors Thesis project consisting of a short film and a 30-page academic defense thereof. The paper was kind of a mess and numerous unplanned compromises in production and post left me in a feeling of despair regarding the film. It sat, buried in my hard-drive for two years, dismissed as a failure and disappointment. Anyway, time heals all wounds — I feel better about it now to the point where I'm comfortable with it being viewable online. Any shortcomings are the result of my writing/direction, not the hard work and dedication of the credited people who gave so much time and effort to the project.

I really really liked this.
I just watched about 3-4 of your projects,and as a whole,I gotta say,This one is my favorite.

harmful, i really liked the tracking effects you got there. and the contrast is great. did you do that digitally? i can't really tell.

i've been getting more and more interested in remixing old video sort of like what Everything is Terrible does. I made this video that chops up a lot of scrambled porn and workout videos and stuff.

Thanks man... all the tracking effects are all in-camera, but the contrast was done in fcp, made easier by the fact I was standing in front of a lightbult just out of frame. I'm glad you appreciated it... I have friends that toil in AfterEffects to get VHS glitches that are so painfully obviously digital, it really pays to have the real thing.

I like what you're working on... it reminds me of this one experimental film (the name escapes me) that consists entirely of looped position transitions from porn movies, not just going from missionary to doggy but also zoom ins/outs of clocks and fireplaces... fuck I really wish I could recall the name.

oh, cool. so you filmed it on vhs? i have a vhs camcorder but the battery dies after like 5 minutes.

haha "frank the human love machine gifford". my favorite EIT video is the Angela Lansbury piece.
i really want to get their new movie, the remake of Holy Mountain with dog footage. I missed their tour when they came through and i'm still disappointed in myself for that.

First time in years (I guess since my above-posted college "thesis" film, actually) that I tried to make a "serious" short film. I could say how it's an homage to Faulkner and a love letter to cinema but at the end of the day it's about a retard who wants to kill a former movie star.
