I was lucky enough to catch the William Eggleston exhibition at the Whitney. It was crowded as all hell, a lot of kids as well, which I really didn't expect. Inspiring stuff. I was surprised I liked his black and white shots as much, if not more, than the color prints. The highlight for me would have to have been the continuous loop showing STRANDED IN CANTON which is about an hour and change of flaired out, infrared video of some of the most addled drunks and pill heads i've ever had the privlege to have seen. Oddly enough, the whole thing is up on youtube as well.

and there you go.

I saw the final ever Silver Jews show saturday deep in a cave in middle tennessee. It was really really great. Brent Stewart was filming the whole thing on a bunch of 16mm cameras. He told me they hope to cut it and release the whole show soon in the future.

Maybe it's like that episode of Rugrats where that girl kept pushing Chuckie over whenever they met and was just real mean to him in general but then in the end it turned out she was just doing all that because she really liked him but didn't know how to express the like properly. If baal has not accepted the possibility that he might gay than I think that truly might be it - I say it's a valid possibility. At first I was just throwing this out there as something stupid but now in my heart I got a good feeling about it. It all clicks for me. If it's not that it's something... Maybe my memory is wrong but I seem to recall baal being senselessly negative to a number of things Langely's posted in the past few months - consider all that before you dismiss my analysis.

If anyone is to be outted, it is you, isn't it Brutus?

Langley isn't the good natured, innocent fan he'd like you to believe. He's not the noble supporter who just attends these events in order to enjoy them and then share his photos and experiences with you. He's a devil who tries to manoevre his way into certain circles by latching on to people like Korine in order to ride their coat tails into their work and domain. He is delusional because he believes that friendship is possible and that the next step in the relationship will mean he will get his name floated about and he will achieve hero status amongst his peers. In reality he's the kind of person who makes the (typically) musician or artist cringe whenever they see them. This is classic goo syndrome.

Hah, well... I don't know about this, baal. I'm starting to think you're perhaps not right in the head.

What's the difference between Langley's post about seeing the Silver Jews and yours about Spiritualized? That he took photos and ended up finding Brent Stewart there, is that how he becomes the "deluded fanboy" in the eyes of our forum's beloved negative nancy? That's a genuine question too, to be clear, not rhetorical.

I would actually say that if anyone on this forum has a strange idea about their place among famous people and what that means it would surely be you, baal, and I'm thinking specifically now about your creepy post following the birth of Korine's child and a few other of your insights here and there.

It really seems like all we ever hear from you are these negative responses like the one on this page, baal. (And when it's not that it's, "I'm reading albɛʁ kamy.") It's tiring, truly. You would would do very well to just look on the bright side once in a while and stop being such an uptight, pompous dick all the time.

I don't know why you need to single out and attack any of my unrelated posts. I've contributed more than what you have vindictively whittled down to be my contributions. You attribute negativity to me as though it has no place. The difference between me seeing a band and langley's attendance is that he has ulterior motives. It's been a pattern since he arrived on this forum as the "noble ambassador" in his quest to interview Korine. As you alluded to before, this isn't something I've just picked up on now. If you have ever been in the situation I have described or been witness to it, you will know what I mean, and I feel his actions must be brought to bear.

Well, on the other hand it seems to me that you're being a dick to Langely without real reason and so should be taken up on that.

Negativity is fine but much of what we hear from you, such as this now, seems to be complaining for it's own sake and usually (at least to me) seems completely senseless. What you're talking about now, these 'ulterior motives' that Langely must but which you don't, strike me as entirely illogical - I don't see how anyone can sensibly come up with such an idea. I say if you're not joking then you're a deluded, spiteful idiot.

I don't mean to put you down, but meh... Am I alone here in thinking all baal has said is just nuts? I'll say no more until we have some responses to that, just in case I'm missing something here...

i think you try to interprete to much into there. hero status? stalking? are you kidding? i think he just likes to have a photo with him and the people he admires, and i dont see whats wrong about that. isnt everyone of us a "fan" of something? and everyone is a fan in his own way. people are diffrent, and you have accept them for that.

some people here seem to be sooooo interested to "shine right" its getting pretty annoying. this board isnt about who is the coolest ...

Yeah, I quite like Langley actually. Which is to say, I don't want to kiss him on the mouth or anything, but certainly there's nothing wrong with what he's doing. He's no dick. And I don't think he's the plotting monster you make him out to be. Then again, if he is, he's fooling the majority of us. Maybe we should drown him in a river just to make sure we're not made fools of.

i think the fact that langley has stayed out of this entire discussion says enough about his character. everyone else should take his lead.

Lastnight i saw Fucked Up and was in the first circle pit i've been in for a good few years, was really fun and the band were great. Something about being embraced by a giant naked hairy fat man. He liked my t-shirt. It was heartwarming.

Got tickets for Animal Collective on the 24th, really can't wait. Times New Viking coming up in May too, who are always great, though a part of me wishes they'd do this Velvet Underground covers set they did a month or so back instead of their own stuff.
